What are Course Equivalencies?   

Course Equivalencies are courses that have been reviewed by a transfer institution and determined to match something within that institution's catalog.  For example, ENG110 English Composition 1 is equivalent to the Composition 1 class at Pitt-Johnstown or Indiana University of PA.

Transfer equivalencies for classes at PA Community Colleges and PA State System of Higher Education can be found on PATRAC.org.  

• PA 30-Credit Framework Listing: This is a list of classes that will transfer to any Pennsylvania college or university and apply specifically to general education requirements. This has been updated as of August 2024.
• Search for Course Equivalencies: This search tool has many of the courses that transfer between these institutions
• Search for Exam Equivalencies: This search tool allows students to search for AP, CLEP, IB, and other equivalences by exam/test.
